My Books Of The Month

  • Miss Julia Delivers the Goods

one of a kind story, this is about liking, caring and loving unconditionally the mistress and the son of miss julia's late husband. (i don't know if i'll also have the same heart and patience if this will happen to me in real life like miss julia in the story... tsk! )

Summary: Miss Julia frets when Hazel Marie admits she's feeling poorly--and insists they head off to the doctor's right away. After a battery of tests and a hospital stay, Hazel Marie has news for Miss Julia that no Woman of a Certain Age who takes in and provides for her dead husband's mistress (even one she's grown very fond of ) should have to hear. Could Hazel Marie bring even more scandal into Miss Julia's life? And maybe more than Miss Julia can bear? Has Hazel Marie really sent Mr. Pickens packing just when she needs him most? Will Hazel make good on her threat to leave town? And take little Lloyd, the apple of Miss Julia's eye, with her? Clearly, Miss Julia has to come up with a plan--and fast. When Abbotsville is struck by a robbery, it's a blessing in disguise. Miss Julia declares that only J.D. Pickens, P.I., can solve the crime, hoping that maybe she and the enterprising Lillian can get the warring lovers to make up before it's too late. Playing cupid may be Miss Julia's toughest assignment to date, but this time she simply must deliver the goods!

  • Lethally Blond

i so like the story of this book. i love the character of Bailey Weggins and how she solved all the thrilling mysteries about Tom's death day by day while having her colorful and exciting love life at the side... ;)  when i'm already at the last page.. i found myself wishing that hopefully there are still more pages after the last page i'm holding/reading because i still want to read more. that's how i love the story of this book. hahaha
Summary:  Whenever a celebrity hurls a phone, crashes a car, or murders a spouse, crime journalist Bailey Weggins is there to cover it for the gossip magazine Buzz. Now the much-hyped television show Morgue has begun shooting in Manhattan, and just as Bailey starts reminiscing about her fling with the show's gorgeous star, Chris Wickersham, he phones her. But Chris isn't calling to rekindle their flame. His friend Tom, who plays a small role on the show, has gone missing, and while nobody seems to be alarmed, Chris can't believe his friend would just take off before the show premieres. Bailey starts to investigate Tom's disappearance as a favor to Chris, and she soon realizes there is more going on than meets the eye. Delving deeper into the glamorous yet crazy world of TV. she finds herself in the middle of a killer story--literally--and also in the line of fire. As the missing person case gets hotter, so does the action between the sheets for Bailey--especially the moments her crush Beau Regan hits town again. When mysterious phone calls turn ominous and it's clear she's being stalked, Bailey becomes determined to solve the case in less time than the length of a Hollywood   marriage. Unless she unearths the truth, she could beome the inspirations for Morgue's next episode.

  • Rich Dad's Guide To Becoming Rich Without Cutting Up Your Credit Cards (Turn 'Bad Debt' into 'Good Debt')
after reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad book of Robert Kiyosaki (hmmm 4 years ago or more?!? i don't exactly remember anymore) i'm already a fan of him and so when i found another book of him last week, i didn't hesitate and grabbed it... (ssshhh i didn't buy this book (yet), i just read it inside the bookstore near our office from cover to cover -every lunch time . :D)

moneywise, my parents nor the schools i've been to didn't teach me a lot and i must admit i am not that financially literate (yet) but i believe it's not yet too late to start learning. my goals are to be financially free, retire early and enjoy life with my love ones... not only in my dreams but also in reality. but for now i'm still at the process of learning and applying the lessons to my own self, wish me all the best! ;)
Why cutting up your credit cards won't make you rich. A popular TV personality often says, "Take out your credit cards and cut them into pieces." While that is sound advice for people who are not financially responsible, it is inadequate advice for anyone who wants to become rich or financially free. In other words, just cutting up your credit cards will not make you rich. What does make you rich is financial education...unfortunately a type of education we do not receive in school. If a person has a solid financial education, they would know that there are two kinds of debt...good debt and bad debt. A person with a sound financial education would know how to use good debt to make them richer faster...much faster than a person who only saves money and has no debt. Rich Dad's Guide to Becoming Rich * Are you in credit card debt? * Is job security dead? * Is your financial security threatened? * Is a high-paying job the answer? * Is your money working for you? * Do you have good debt or bad debt? We all need more financial education. We need to know how to have our money work hard for us so we don't have to spend our lives working for money. That is why we need more sophisticated financial education...not oversimplified and childish financial tips such as cut up your credit cards or save more money. If you are ready to increase your financial education and enjoy your credit cards, then this book is for you. -source
